High Blood Pressure at Applebee's

Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. Not a place I would normally go but glad I did. Went on a Monday night around 12:30am. Very small crowd and was told could sit a table in bar area... asked for a booth and they accommodated. Waitress was also bartender so was pretty busy but friendly. $6.99 burgers with unlimited fries was great, both had the All Day Brunch burger, amazing. And a pecan blondie dessert to finish the meal, also amazing. Was a nice place and would return, thank you for being open late!!

I havent been to Applebee's in years but today I was driving by and thought to give it a try. We were greeted but not very warmly and promptly took a seat at the bar. Our drink order was taken and delivered promptly. Never had to ask for a refill which was nice. I ordered the tortilla soup and blt. Both came out pretty fast and were tasty. My only concern is the staff seemed to wish they were somewhere else. They were not rude or anything just disinterested or bored. Not the cheeriest group but over the top personalities can be over whelming too.

I had a great experience eating here late. I had the double sirloin. I was surprised with how much I liked it. It had a great flavor along with the garlic mashed potatoes. My boyfriend got a burger that he enjoyed. The raspberry tea wasn't that good. Our waitress, Jen was great. We left fat & happy!

Bad service. Bad drinks. No reason for it either as they were not very busy at all for a Friday night. Food is not very good at all!

I have been here several time over the past few months. They have a great outdoor area on Sykes creek with nice views and breezes. They have changed the menu and have added some nice choices. I have had the pasta with shrimp, the hamburgers and several other menu items. I have not had a bad experience at all. They have 2 for 1 drinks as well. They do serve drinks outside in plastic containers but, the utensils are not plastic like another reviewer had stated. This is a great place to go with families, friends and even alone.

I am not sure why but every time I go to an Applebee's I am not impressed with them? After a day of helping friends do some lawn work over in the Merritt Island area, we decided to have lunch before heading back to Orlando. We all really wanted a cocktail with lunch so Applebee's seemed to be the only place in the area that was open and served drinks. The parking lot was full but for some reason, the restaurant was not. We were seated right away and our server approached us for a drink order. She was very nice but her all black uniform was a mess. Not sure if she got that dirty that day or she just did not clean her uniform but it was not the best look for them to be projecting. Also, the table was greasy... not too much but just enough for me to think they don't wipe down the tables... but I did observe them doing so while cleaning other tables. This seems to be something I have experienced at every Applebee's I have been to... a thin film of 'something' on the table. I ordered a two for one beer and my friends ordered martinis. Once the drinks came out, she took our order. I got a Buffalo Burger and my friends both got salads. The food came out after about 15 min (again, not busy in my opinion) and the food all looked fine except, the tomato on the plate with my burger was just nasty. It looked like it had been sitting out for a bit and was starting to dry up. The plate also did not have my fries with it. I guess they were out and had to cook up some more so I was told they would be out in a few min... and they were... very hot since they just came out of the frier. Otherwise, everything tasted fine... Again, our server was nice if not a mess and the food was okay but nothing to write home about. I would only go again if there was nothing else in the area to eat at but I should have just waited to get back to the Orlando area to eat. I wish I could have given it a bit more but I just cant... ;-/

Not exactly gourmet but I don't' expect that from a chain. But the staff was very friendly and accommodating to the child with us. I would go back with another family dining need.

I read the reviews and I was a little worried about going. We had a few minutes wait and my worry grew. I gave them 4 stars because the food was fast and cheap. The local beer on tap was better than expected. After the meal I decided to splurge and have the chocolate meltdown. The bad part is that it was a let down. It seemed to go from freezer to microwave to plate and tasted it too! -rooster

Plastic utensils to cut a steak? A great location right on the Indian River. We brought our friends here after they came down from Ohio. Hoping to get a nice dinner, we had nothing but a bad experience. We put 2 small tables together so all 5 of us could sit together. They had a table that was ready to fall apart at any moment. They said they didn't want to complain and left it at that. Then we ordered drinks, it was 2 for 1 and my wife and I got margaritas, as we usually do at any place we go. We also order them without salt. This time they brought them with salt. My wife was visibly upset and I told her to let it go. Well that didn't happen, and she let the waitress know. She was apologetic and took them away to bring us back some without salt. When she brought the new drinks back, mine had some SUGAR on the outside of the plastic container. Yes, plastic. I am guessing since we were outside, we were not allowed to have an actual glass for a drink...So we took our first sip and noticed 2 things. One the extreme sour mix taste and the other the total lack of tequila. One of our friends from up north had the same and said it was a virgin drink as well. As you see, the issues keep piling up. Next up, our dinner! So I ordered their signature steak and I always like my steaks medium done. There were 2 other steaks ordered at our table. Both medium as well. I got mine and it was well done. I cut it in half and tried to eat it as much as I could but was not able to even eat the half I cut. I also had broccoli and a baked potato with butter and sour cream. The broccoli was ok, but the baked potato was half cooked. To the point that the butter never melted on it!!! OH and did I say anything about our utensils??? They were PLASTIC! YEP, PLASTIC. Its been a very long time since I have cut into a steak with a plastic fork and knife. We all has plastic for our meals. I guess it was much like the plastic cups for our margarita's. They just don't trust their customers with actual dinnerware. We complained to the management with the above mentioned and she said the meal was taken care of. Bottom line, this is a restaurant that is in a premium spot and the outdoor area on a Saturday night, during spring break is empty. After our experience, it is understandable why the place is empty on a Saturday night.

I have to say that regardless of what those around me think, I'm a big fan of the Applebee's sirloin steak. It is always bursting with flavor and the texture is almost unexplainable. I don't know how they cook it but I can only say that it's different. Whoever I'm dining with at the time, seems to think that the meat is just low quality or "not real meat" and that is why the texture is different, but I don't care. I love it. Because I love the steak so much, I was able to forgive some pretty big restaurant errors on this visit. Normally the hostesses will open the door for you upon entering and exiting, however this time there was none of that. In fact, there was barely a smile or hello...just a "how many?". We were seated at a bar table because they were so busy. I got my usual fried mozzarella appetizer and the sirloin with the new red beans and rice. Even though the new sides are the same price a la carte, they charge more if you get it with your entree. Thumbs down for that. Our server brought out our food and I immediately noticed a curly hair on the edge of my plate. Normally that would disgust me and I'd lose my appetite but my love for this steak and my hunger would not be denied. While I finished my meal and was happy, my daughters Chicken Alfredo was a failure. I took a bite after she said it was bad and had to agree. The pasta and sauce were disgusting. Overall, the staff errors and the bite of my daughters meal detracted from this visit to one of my favorite casual dining spots but I'll be back.

I've eaten here quite a bit, so this review is a general one, not just on the last visit. I've always found Applebees, particularly this one on Merritt Island, relatively good. The service has never disappointed, the ambiance is always relaxed and a bit hip, and the food has always been good and at times very good. The thing that I like most about Applebees are their Weight Watchers choices with Points listed right on the menu (a big plus.) Appetizers choices are varied, the menus has a wide variety of picks whether seafood, steak, mexican, and so on. A great selection of salads, and their desserts are always something to look forward too. I was surprised to see the negative reviews, somehow I guess, I've been lucky...

What a shame because this place could be so good with their nice tiki bar on the water, but cold, flavorless, frozen food just does'nt cut it. I've never understood how their 2 for 1 drinks work out to be more exspensive than anywhere else in towns normal price.

This has to be the absolute worst Applebee's - if not restaurant, I've ever been to. My grilled steak tasted like they didn't clean their grill since the caveman era. Plus it was super well done. It was so nasty. Then they brought it back cooked on the flat-top which was only a little better. I don't think they clean anything they cook with. The potatoes were watery?! My broccoli was extra crunchy!? My original and replacement set of utensils were dirty. The service was great and the drinks mixed nicely. But I would never, ever go back. The food was just waaaayyyy too bad to give it a second chance.

Don't be fooled by Applebee's advertisement of live music on Fridays. I have now gone there twice and there's no band. When I inquire, the response I get back is vague about the musician not showing up or that management doesn't care. The last time I went I brought in a group. I was disappointed and embarrassed since my selling point was the live music. Another gripe is the so called happy hour special of two for one. I have never paid $6 for a small domestic draft. Last, the food is bland and fattening. It tastes like a frozen meal. Even the salads are fattening. The only thing that is good about the restaurant is the outdoor patio. They cleaned it up and it looks nice.

We ate at the one in merritt island today for a lunch on the weekend since we haven't been here in a long time and we had nice service but the food wasn't good at all, we got the spinach artichoke dip and that was okay but the chips were over cooked in old oil so they weren't good and they replaced them after we asked. We got the steak meal that's on the 2 for 20$ but the steak was full of fat and not a whole lot of flavor the mashed potatoes were good but the broccoli was not good at all. Over all experience was okay we probably won't eat here again.

I end up going here about once a year when family/friends come to town, and that is plenty for me. The food is usually not very good and service is usually sketchy at best. I have never figured out how they stay so busy, when every time I come here, we all leave less than happy about our meals. Not terrible food for sure, just not good. Places like Fridays or Chilis are better by a lot (and that's not saying much).
